BHS Principal
Eric Hicks
I am honored to be able to serve as the Bonham High School Principal and to be able to serve our students, teachers, staff, and the entire school community. This will be my 7th year at BHS. I previously served as the professional communications teacher and head boys basketball coach at BHS This will be my 15th year in education, having 8 years of experience prior to coming to Bonham.
Bonham, Texas is home! I am a proud class of 2005 BHS graduate and attended BISD schools PK-12. I went on to receive both a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler.
My wife, Heather, and I have lived in Fannin County the majority of our lives but made Bonham our family's home in 2021. Heather is starting her 3rd year as the Social/Emotional Counselor here at BHS and has been involved in education as both a teacher and/or a counselor since 2010. Together we have two wonderful boys! Grady is in 6th grade and Gentry is in 4th grade, both at I.W. Evans. When I am not at school, you will mostly likely find me doing something involved with our church or something basketball related. We are all avid Dallas Mavericks fans!
I consider myself extremely blessed to be a Purple Warrior and I am beyond excited about this school year! Bleed Purple has been my passion since day one and that will never change. BHS is a school that is rich with tradition and pride. I hope to be able to share my passion with our staff and students as we move forward in shaping the future.
