Choir Teacher and Finley-Oates Music Teacher
Hello, my name is Anna Waller, and I am beyond excited to be continuing with the Bonham ISD staff this year to teach at both Finley-Oates and Bonham High School in the Fine Arts department. I’m your choir and music teacher! I can’t wait to get to know my students and their wonderful families!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself for you to get to know me a bit better. I’m from Taylorsville, North Carolina. I grew up in the South and am pleased to say my roots have stayed here throughout my travels around the world over the years. I graduated from Alexander Central High School in 1998 and then settled in Hickory, North Carolina to receive my BA in Music Performance from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2003. I also studied Education and Theater while in college, and would have loved to stay forever getting degrees in everything I possibly could. I love learning, and it’s my lifelong pursuit, no matter wha the area.
Degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University (Hickory, NC): BA in Music Performance (vocal and piano)
Certified in TX to teach:
EC-12 Special Education
I am so excited to announce that this is the fifth year I’ve had the pleasure to teach at Bonham ISD! I bleed purple and am so proud to call this home! I am currently teaching k-3 Music and BHS Choir/Vocal Ensemble.
Prior to working at Bonham ISD, I was a math and science elementary teacher at Morning Star Academy and subbed at Honey Grove ISD and Dodd City Elementary. I’ve been a private piano and vocal instructor for over 20 years, beginning when I was in high school. I’ve also had teaching experience as a manager at New York & Co. when I was a young adult. I was also blessed to take a detour and learn accounting procedures and office management at Wise Products, Inc. in Honey Grove, TX for 3 years.
My hobbies include playing and teaching piano and voice. I’m an avid reader and love to volunteer my time to community projects to do my part in making the world a better place. When I’m not teaching you’ll find me teaching private lessons or curled up with a good book.
