Introduction:
Hello! My name is Shelby Lowrey. I am beginning my fifth year as the Academic Advisor at Bonham High School. I am going on my twelfth year of marriage to my husband, Wade Lowrey. We have two beautiful daughters. Haydan, age 10, is in 4th grade at I. W. Evans Elementary and participates in Jr FFA and gymnastics. Parker, age 8, is in 2nd grade at Finley-Oates Elementary and loves animals and gymnastics. We enjoy camping and boating as a family. My favorite place is the beach. Saltwater is the cure for everything!
Years of Teaching:
I was an adjunct professor of English at Grayson College for two years before I began working at Bonham High School in January of 2012 teaching AP English Language, Speech, and English IV. I have since taught AP English Literature and English III as well. I have also taught English I and English II remediation courses. I accepted the position as the Academic Advisor in July of 2015. I enjoy my job and being able to partner with students and parents to ensure the success of the students.
University and Degree(s):
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Education with a minor in English From Texas A & M University – Commerce. I am currently working toward my Doctorate in Education in Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction with a focus on Secondary Curriculum through Texas A & M University – Commerce.
